Electrical engineering projects

Electrical engineering is a field of engineering that generally deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism.

Feedback Circuits
Feedback Circuits

It is an important concept for electronic circuit designers. You can do lots of projects based on the feedback concept. Perhaps you can design a circuit(s) that demonstrates how adjusting one part of a circuit causes another part to reflect feedback.

The thermostat is one of the best examples of a feedback devices. A thermostat is a component of a control system which senses the temperature of a system so that the system's temperature is maintained near a desired setpoint. The thermostat does this by switching heating or cooling devices on or off, or regulating the flow of a heat transfer fluid as needed, to maintain the correct temperature.

A basic 12V to 240V inverter

inverter

The inverter is an electrical device that changes direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC). The converted AC can be at any required voltage and frequency with the use of appropriate transformers, switching, and control circuits. It is always a good project for a start. You can choose this as your final year project because it takes only a couple of weeks to build and design a passable inverter that worked. Once, it gets to build, you can improve it anytime.

Oscilloscope

Oscilloscope
Oscilloscopes are commonly used to observe the exact wave shape of an electrical signal. In addition to the amplitude of the signal, an oscilloscope can show distortion, the time between two events (such as pulse width, period, or rise time) and relative timing of two related signals.

Oscilloscopes are used in the sciences, medicine, engineering, and telecommunications industry. General-purpose instruments are used for the maintenance of electronic equipment and laboratory work.

You can build your own oscilloscope and use it to show the sign wave of a car battery.

Make a solid-state tesla coil :

A Tesla coil is an electrical resonant transformer circuit invented by Nikola Tesla around 1891. It is used to produce high voltage, low current, high frequency alternating current electricity. There are a good number of websites to get ideas and help. Keep the power down to keep it safe.

Tesla coil circuits were used commercially in sparkgap radio transmitters for wireless telegraphy until the 1920s. Today their main use is entertainment and educational displays.

Hydrogen fuel cell
Hydrogen fuel cell

A Hydrogen fuel cell is a device that converts the chemical energy from a fuel into electricity through a chemical reaction with oxygen or another oxidizing agent. They require a constant source of fuel and oxygen to run, but they can produce electricity continually for as long as these inputs are supplied.

You can implement it on a chip that you could use for low power applications in any electronics project.
